GMail, the popular email service by Google is popular for its simplicity and features. But not many of us know that there are much more features to try in GMail that are disabled by default which can be enabled by going to the GMail Labs link here.
Undo Send, Preview Pane, SMS (text messaging) in Chat are some of the cool ones worth a try.
Here’s a look into what you can do by enabling these features.
- Undo Send
Can you see the undo button? This is what this feature does. In case you hit the send button accidentally, it offers you some seconds to undo send. It comes handy when you by mistake include unwanted address in the senders list, mail was still incomplete and so on.
- SMS (text messaging) in Chat
Is your favourite contact not available online to chat? You need not to worry anymore. Just enter your favourite persons cell phone details and you can continue the chat with him over SMS right from the chatbox on your screen.
- Create a Document
Do you use Google Docs? This feature allows you to create a Google Document from an email conversation or a new blank document if your keyboard shortcuts are enabled by hitting 'g' then 'w'.
- Custom keyboard shortcuts
Want to set your favourite keys as shortcuts? This will let you customize keyboard shortcut mappings. Adds a new Settings tab from which you can remap keys to various actions.
- Google Maps previews in mail
If your email has addresses in it, this feature will show Google Map previews of all the addresses found in an email.
- Message translation
In case you receive mail in different languages and you don’t understand them all. This will use Google Translate to translate messages you receive in other languages of your choice.
