Why Nokia isn’t releasing PureView 808 in North Americas?

North Americans who were desperately awaiting to try their hands on the Nokia PureView 808 handsets Nokia showed off at this year’s MWC were let down today because the device won’t be released in the North Americas.

On Nokia's developer website, a page listing details of the PureView 808 says that when the phone goes on sale later this year, the new gadget will launch globally, "excluding North America."

While whole of the North America ( US, Canada and Mexico) won’t get to try their hands on this device, Nokia has promised to put this technology in some other future devices.

The reason its not launching the device in the market may be the OS it is running on, the Symbian which has been a failure in the region. Nokia has previously promised that it will add the PureView technology to Lumia series of Windows Phones. Symbian OS are relatively not that smart to compete in markets such as the United States.

Nokia would never want to hear the negatives for such a technology and therefore isn’t risking it this time and we’ll very soon be hearing of a Lumia device having the PureView technology that would be launched globally including North America which would obviously be running on the most Smart OS, the Windows Phone.
