iPad 3 to face first real test against Windows 8

iPad since its inception has dominated the tablet market against almost a ton other players manufacturing tablets on primarily Google’s Android OS. Android on tablets has had a clumsy experience with apps not working and several other bugs until the release of Honeycomb.

Apple sells more units of iPads than all other players selling tablets together. The 3rd version of the IPad is scheduled to be released on March 7 but now the real competition is about to begin with the launch of Windows 8 by Microsoft. The Consumer Preview of which was launched on Feb 29.

2CP launched by Microsoft has had tremendous gossips going all over the web and the potential among them being a threat to iPad. iPad has had no real competition in the past in the tablet segment specially due to the mistakes the other players committed in their products. Initial tablets against iPad were running on Android 2.2 and 2.3 and this where the competition never began. Apps not working and resolution going out of the way. This all happened because there wasn’t any preparation by the competitors against Apple. This however improved with the launch of Android 3.0 but which is still to gain popularity because of a very few apps in the marketplace.1

The case with Windows 8 is quite the opposite, team Sinofsky has done their homework to the best. Apps are ready before the final launch of the flagship product. Minimum hardware recommendation has to be followed like the Windows Phone to get the OS for the tablet. Metro style screen, quick navigation, best in class memory management and a lot more to look forward in the finished stable version.

Microsoft is leaving no stone unturned to get its flagship brand new OS up and going and we expect at last a potential competitor to iPad and an option as well.
