Windows 8 Desktop shown at D9
Microsoft showed off Windows 8 for the first time at D9. Its home screen looks exactly like a Windows Phone 7 screen which hints that the tablet PCs that will run on Windows 8 tablet version will look exactly like Windows Phone 7.
Earlier Microsoft has announced that it will provide an update for Windows Phone 7 later this year. Windows 8 chief Sinofsky has also said that the first Beta versions of Windows 8 will be made available in later part of this year.
This leaves a clear hint that Microsoft will launch Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 together. This is some thing new from Microsoft. Citing their failure to update their products quickly as compared to Google and other tech giants, they'll be releasing updates quickly. Announcement for update for Windows Phone 7 is a clear hint to this fact.
Hope Windows 8 lives up to the expectations.
